Regular Gas Scarce? Not So Says BBS
posted (April 29, 2020)
The price of regular gasoline took a big dip last Saturday - almost 3 dollar cheaper, maybe the single biggest price slash in history. But, try finding that cheap gas at the pump! Many gas station say there's no regular fuel to sell!

Well, The Supplies Control Unit has gotten involved. They say that according to their recent check of inventory in-country, there is no such shortage.

A press release from the Controller of Supplies, says quote, "...there is an adequate supply of this commodity in-country based on existing inventory. The reports of regular fuel shortages are, therefore, not substantiated by the fuel supply information. The Unit takes this opportunity to remind fuel station dealers of their obligation to supply inventoried price-controlled commodities to consumers. Any retailer declining to sell regular fuel in stock must immediately desist from this practice as this is in contravention to the Supplies Control Regulations."

Consumers are advised to remain vigilant and report any issues that they may have encountered in the market place. They can do so at the Bureau of Standards' consumer protection hotline, which is toll-free. That number is 0-800-283-5587.
