No Sacred Cows At City Hall?
posted (April 30, 2020)

And the Mayor went on to say that unlike what pertains in the UDP his party and municipality have no sacred cows.

Reporter
"Sir he spoke to the hierarchy of the PUP that you did not have the power to make such a decision, what do you have to say to that?"

Bernard Wagner - Mayor, Belize City
"The City council is the hierarchy that I answer to. I have the full support of the party hierarchy as well our party has no sacred cows and that is the message we are sending to all supporters we have no sacred cows. I am appalled at the situation with the yellow man. We have a government that sits around and has a person who’s the mace bearer of the house abuse a journalist intimidate parliamentarians and they sit and do nothing about it for me that’s wrong in my books and it’s wrong, wrong, wrong."

Of course, the dispute goes on, and today Keith Yearwood went to the Precinct one police station claiming that Councillors Micah Goodin and Oscar Arnold had come to his mother’s home and Arnold behaved aggressively towards him.  He claims that he felt a threat because Arnold was carrying his personal firearm.  He went to make a police report as did Arnold, but like good PUDP’s always do, they almost kissed and made up and agreed not to press charges.  Arnold declined to comment on the allegation today - he said police will investigate.
