Some Remain Shuttered
posted (May 4, 2020)
But, there is still a group of businesses that the Government is not allowing to re-open because the working environment is conducive to the spread of the highly contagious COVID-19 disease.

Here's what the Attorney General had to say about enterprises that will remain closed:

Hon. Michael Peyrefitte - Attorney General
"These are the businesses that remain closed. These are the businesses and activities that remain closed: casinos and gaming establishments, spas - which means, especially the ladies are limited to a manicure, pedicure, and hair. That's all you can do right now. As we said last week, no waxing no massages, no facials, and the like. Gymnasiums, sporting complexes remain closed. Disco techs, bars, rum shops, and nightclubs remain closed. No street food vendors are allowed to operate on the street. You cannot put your tacos stand on the street, and sell your tacos on the street. If you have that kind of business, you have to prepare it on private property, in your yard, or in your kitchen, or your home. People can then come, buy and take it away. But, you cannot do any food activity on the street or in a public place."

And, this evening at 6:30, government issued a release saying, quote, "under the current regulations, daycares are permitted to operate; however, an amendment will be made to the current statutory instrument to include daycares in the list of businesses prohibited from operating under the current state of emergency. Therefore, daycares will remain closed until further notice. While daycares will not be permitted to operate, babysitters will be allowed to work by going to a person's home or caring for a child in their home." End quote.
