Area Rep Recovered From The San Pedro Slapdown?
posted (May 5, 2020)
We'll have comments from Commissioner Chester Williams about that water taxi situation later on.

We also asked security minister Peyrefitte about the situation with his cabinet colleague and San Pedro area rep who had to be reigned in after he went too far with a San Pedro proclamation for the state of emergency.

Peyrefitte said it is all smoothed over:

Hon. Michael Peyrefitte - Attorney General
"Mayor Guerrero and Minister Heredia - they are going all out to make sure they represent the people in San Pedro and so if they want to take extra special measures to protect what they believe is their responsibility nobody can fault them for that. We just have to remind them that while that is admirable the national applies to the entire country and so all we need to tell them is we have to convince them that listen what we have in place nationally is good enough for everywhere and since we had that discussion from like a week or so ago with Minister Heredia and Mayor Guerrero it has gone smoothly, so Minister Heredia when I spoke to him he just told me Mike I just want to make sure that my people are safe, that's my number one concern."

Later on in the news - we'll have an interview with Commissioner Chester Williams about how those meetings went.
