Manza, Covid Killjoy
posted (May 8, 2020)
And like a constant COVID killjoy, DHS Manzanero says heading out to buy your mother her gift is not an essential purpose. He's advising that mom's take a rain check on their special day.

Dr. Marvin Manzanero - Director of Health Services
"This is going to be perhaps one of the first mother's day when my suggestion and my request is going to be and I know perhaps the business community is not going to like what I say, but I don't know that we should be rushing out to buy gifts and all the other things as we routinely would be doing. We still should not be having any social gatherings, barbecue's parties on this mother's day. I am sure all the mothers will understand and I am sure that they would also understand that the best mother's day gift they can get perhaps this year is if you are able to stay home, practice good physical distancing and maybe we come back and redo this and have another mother's day down the road, but I don't know that at this point in time. That is a safe recommendation I can make to be able to reach out to your mom."
