On Monday night, we told you about 61-year-old Michael Avilez. He's the resident of Ladyville Village who was stabbed and robbed by two burglars who broke into his home in the early morning hours of Monday. Tonight, the cops have charged 2 men for that crime.
They've been identified to us as 20-year-old Tyrese Gladden, and 21-year-old Shyiem Casimiro. Both men have been charged with aggravated burglary. Casimiro was additionally charged with attempted murder, the use of deadly means of harm, and dangerous harm. It is expected that both men will be arraigned in Magistrate's Court at the earliest convenience.
At around 12:30 a.m. on Monday, Avilez was sleeping his home on Marage Road. That's when 2 men broke into his home and demanded his money and other valuables. Because he wasn't cooperating, the men pistol-whipped him to the face and stabbed him twice to the left side of the chest.
He then handed over $110 cash, and that's when the assailants fled.
