During his session on the Ask the Experts Webcast this evening, Attorney General Michael Peyrefitte shared a few more specifics about how repatriation of Belizeans will work, and what they will be required to do to be allowed into the country:
The authorities say that a special Ministry of Foreign Affairs application form will be posted on the covid19.bz website on Monday. Belizeans abroad will be required to fill out that form electronically, and the request for entry will be vetted by the authorities. The applicant should only show up at the borders if he or she receives a response that they have been approved for re-entry.
But, there is also a protocol for those persons who enter or leave the country illegally. They will be detained, charged, quarantined, and then they will have to face the consequences of breaching the borders. Here's what the AG had to say about that:
