FFECTAB Fighting Ashcroft Now
posted (May 14, 2020)
Lord Micheal Ashcroft chose to weather the pandemic in Belize - which also happens to be one of the safest countries on earth - if you're watching the coronavirus index.

And this morning when he stopped by his television station to appear on Open Yours Eyes on to discuss his proposed 200 million US-dollar Port of Belize facelift, he was met by a small yet energetic group of protesters led by FECTAB firebrands.

They were there to protest because they say they weren't consulted on Aschroft's plans for the port - which has a key cruise element.

But they hadn't taken into account that protesting doesn't meet the criteria for an essential purpose to be outside. And that's where things got a little hairy. Cherisse Halsall reports.

In total, 5 men were charged. Yohny Rosado and David Almendarez were released with one charge each, while Raymond Rivers and Perry Smith received as many as three charges including assault of an officer and refusing arrest.
