There was another maritime crime bust on Monday when the Team at Hol Chan Marine reserve caught unlicensed fishermen Angel Alfonso Diaz and Ledvin Ixpatac with a nurse shark as well as out of season lobster and conch.
It happened at a dock near Akbol where the two men were found attempting to dispose of the shark. Both men were detained and later charged with Possession of out of season undersized lobster and conch, Possession of nurse shark, engaging in commercial fishing whilst not being the holder of a fisherfolk license and, finally, obstruction.
