Repatriation of Stranded Belizeans To Begin
posted (May 19, 2020)
And Belize's quite remarkable COVID free run is why there is some anxiety concerning the return of Belizean Citizens who have been stuck in all different corners of the world since late March when the airport and borders were closed.

The Prime Minister announced last week that there would be a re-opening for those Belizeans to be repatriated.

But, it has to be an orderly return. And the first step towards that went live late last night when the Belize Controlled Repatriation form went live on the official COVID19.BZ website.

It's described as a "Application Form for Belizeans Displaced Abroad" and requires a few forms to be filled out and basic information to be provided.

And it tells applicants that they will receive approval to return to Belize and should then book their travel.

Tomorrow the CEO for Foreign Affairs will appear on ask The experts to answer questions about this large initiative which could see hundreds headed back for Belize.
