Coke Truck With Weed
posted (May 19, 2020)
After an arrest on Friday, a Bowen and Bowen delivery man from Pomona Village in the Stann Creek District was left to face a drug trafficking charge. That's after police say they busted him with a bag of marijuana in his delivery truck.

Police say that at around 10:45 a.m. on Friday, May 15, they intercepted the delivery truck, while it was making its rounds in the Stann Creek District. They were acting on intelligence that drugs were concealed inside the truck. The responding officers then pulled over the driver, who was later identified as 26-year-old Melvin Velasquez. They informed him of their intent to search the truck for illegal drugs and firearms, and they asked him if he had anything to declare before they commenced.

Velasquez reportedly wasted no time and told the cops that he had marijuana on him to hand over. He opened the driver's side door and retrieved a black plastic bag, which was hidden under the driver's seat. He then handed it over to the cops; who later determined that drugs weigh 73.8 grams - or 2.6 ounces - of cannabis.

Later that day, an officer arrested and charged him with the offense of drug trafficking.
