Drugs Busted, Mexican Quarantined, The Twain Never Met
posted (May 21, 2020)

Belizean Law enforcement made a major drug bust in the Orange Walk District yesterday, finding 7 pounds of marijuana near an illegal border crossing.

A joint patrol with police, customs and Baha near the Botes illegal crossing came upon a group of men who dashed off when they saw the patrol.

Before they escaped, the culprits dumped a camouflage bag in an area located near the Yo Creek and San Antonio Roads. When the cops retrieved it, they found 3 square parcels of compressed marijuana inside. The 3 parcels had a combined weight of 3.286 kilograms or 7 pounds.

Now, in this area is where police also found this Mexican who we told you about last night.  Contrary to what we reported, he was not found with the drugs and the police did not send him back across the border.  He was caught by Immigration in Santa Cruz and is now in quarantine in Corozal ITVET pending charges after going through the mandatory processes. Again, he is not connected to the drugs.
