Tonight, 7News has received credible information which says that a member of the 5 man Corozal Free Zone board of directors has been caught coming-out the zone with contraband cigarettes.
Reports are that he was caught at a checkpoint just a short distance form the border where Customs has an operation. A customs official told us several vehicles were stopped, and several of them had liquors & cigarettes concealed in the panel of their vehicles.
We are told this prominent Free Zone businessman was one of them with a quantity of cigarettes.
