There was an attempted armed robbery yesterday at the Sayer Paints
office, at the corner of Douglas Jones and Cran Streets in Belize City.
The operations manager, told police that at around 2:50 p.m., he was on
duty behind the counter. That’s when 2 masked, dark-complexioned men
entered.
They pretended to be customers, and they began inquiring about the
prices for paint. While Calderon was providing them with that
information, one of the robbers lifted his shirt and pulled out a
silver and black firearm. He then shouted at Calderon, who immediately
began fearing for his life.
Calderon then began shouting for help, and it appears that the
commotion spooked the would-be robbers. They then ran out of the
business place and escaped empty-handed on foot.
