posted (June 8, 2020)
And more than just paying, Faber says parents and the community have to get involved to get schools ready for the new COVID reality. Here's how you can do your part:

Hon. Patrick Faber, Minister of Education
"We are asking for donation of equipment or labor to install repair sinks, or makeshift handwashing stations. We are asking for support for the donating of cleaning and disinfecting supplies and equipment for example soap, soap powder, bleach, mops, mops buckets, hand sanitizers, disinfectants sprays, paper towels, cleaning cloth, gloves etc. We are for our parents and the wider members of the public to volunteer to clean and set up classrooms, installing social distance markers and office space dividers. We are asking for their assistance in printing and posting signage etc."

"If you want to know what you can do as a parent, find the school that in your community and go and volunteer. Tell the principal that I have a crew that I am going to bring in. The teachers let them have their July rest, because in August we are starting and we are jamming. We have the right disinfectants, I could donate something and I want to come in and help you madam principal to set this place up, to mop the floors according to the regulations in that manual to use the right disinfectant to fix whatever furniture needs to be fix, to paint whatever needs to be paint. This is now to do that kind of thing."
