posted (June 9, 2020)
And, also under the COVID magnifying glass are those three Honduran Fishers we told you about last night.

A joint patrol with Coast Guard and personnel from the Southern Environmental Alliance found them fishing in the Gladden Spit marine reserve on Monday morning at 1:00 am.

Today on Ask The Experts Director of Health Services Dr. Marvin Manzanero said they are quarantined in Dangriga - and WILL remain there for 14 days:

Ask the Experts Facebook Stream
"Can you discuss the case of the 3 Honduran fishers caught by Galdden Split fishing illegally in the reserve on Monday morning? Where are they quarantine In Dangriga as far as I understand. They are at the Russel Chiste Garcia Stadium and are they being tested for Covid-19?"

Dr. Marvin Manzanero - Director of Health Services
"They would be tested now. Again, we test people once they are caught rather than before they leave or wherever they are release to the police or wherever that legal matter is going to be. I don't know if they have been tested, but the new revision that we have done would mandate that we test them, still keep them for 14 days and we test them 14 days later to release to the police or wherever they are going to go."

These men will surely face substantial charges for fishing in a marine reserve and for breaking multiple state of emergency regulations.
