Tonight, a Guatemalan who was shot in the Chiquibul is recovering at a Cayo Hospital. He is there pending charges for illegally poaching wildlife and other offence.
As we told you last night, a Friends for Conservation and Development Ranger shot him on Sunday, at about 6:00 p.m., 1.2 kilometres east of the border, in the area of Caracol.

In this case Ramirez is at the KHMH in a stable condition.
A release says, quote, "The matter is under investigation and it will proceed in keeping with Belizean Law and the spirit of the Confidence Building Measures of 2005 which inform Belize's relations with Guatemala."
