Crackhouse Burns On Mex Avenue
posted (June 15, 2020)
And while Belisle lost his home, others have lost what was at best their primary means of shelter and at worst a hangout spot. Neighbors in the area say it was a spot for drug addicts, one that they're glad to see go. Here's what the authorities had to say about the fire that finally rendered it unlivable.

Supt. Alejandro Cowo
"On Saturday at about 11:00 pm police visited number 19 Cut Avenue to extinguish the fire but at the conclusion, most of the mobile home was destroyed. Police investigations showed that the house didn't have any source of electricity. So it's being looked at to see if it was arson or if it was something else that had caused the fire. The house is occupied by a person of special needs. It's something similar to what happened some time ago at that same location."

Kenneth Mortis, Station Supervisor
"A little after 11:00 we received a call for a house fire in progress on Cut Avenue and when we arrived at the location we observed the remains of an abandoned trailer home on fire as per normal the fire fighting team got into operations in bringing this fire under control before total extinguishment after which we learned that the abandoned trailer was being occupied on a part-time basis by 40-year-old Mr. Kareem Anderson. When we tried to locate Mr. Anderson to have a word with him to date we have not found him. We haven't had any conversation as to what's the status regarding himself and the trailer that he occupied. We can confirm however that the fire started as a result of an open dump, garbage fire then so to speak that eventually consumed the trailer and it's contents."
