Biggest Repatriation Flight Yet Arrives On Friday
posted (June 16, 2020)
But, the number of quarantined persons is about to go up sharply. That's because 45 persons are arriving on a flight this Friday. It's a part of an incremental plan to repatriate the close to 600 resident Belizeans who have applied to return home. The first flight with repatriates carried 5 who arrived on Friday June 5th, then 12 who arrived last Friday, June 12th, and now 45 expected this Friday.

Dr. Manzanero said they will set up testing booths at the PGIA:

Dr. Marvin Manzanero - Director of Health Services
"It seems that we will have 45 people arriving on the flight this Friday. One person just arrived at the western border a little bit earlier today. That person went to a quarantine facility in the Cayo District. Another group arrived yesterday the 4th cruise ship that has docked, that 5 Belizeans that were brought back yesterday and again all these persons are asymptomatic. We are going to go ahead and prepare for the ongoing repatriation process primarily through the airport. If they have in point of fact 45 people coming on that flight on Friday then we need to prepare adequately. The testing booths had been set up there so that we can continue to do that as people arrives."

The most recent Friday flight carried 12 Belizeans and 3 US nationals, one, a diplomat, and two relatives of Cayo murder victim Robert Hurley.
