Cops Catch Tomza Robbers
posted (June 17, 2020)
There was a robbery this evening at the Gas Tomza compound in Belize City, located at mile 1 and a half on the George Price Highway. Fortunately, police were quick to respond, and the thieves were caught shortly after they targeted the Butane depot.

The cops are still gathering the details, and so, they have not shared any official information on it as yet. But, we understand that two thieves barged in and held up the business place. The cops were in the area, and they quickly set chase after the fleeing criminals.

The responding officers had to fire warning shots, but they were able to intercept and apprehend the culprits and recover the stolen items.

This evening, Police Commissioner publicly applauded those cops for the good police work:

Chester Williams- Commissioner of Police
"There was a robbery at Gas Tomza on the George Price Highway about an hour ago. Again, police quick response to that matter resulted in the apprehension of two and the recovery of the items stolen. Again, I want to commend the police officers who responded and all other police officers working across the country who have really and truly stepped up and ensured that law and order is maintained in the country. Yes, we fully understand that we will never be able to stop everything from occurring but for the most part we are doing what we can to ensure a reduction in robberies."

Whenever the assailants are charged and arraigned in Magistrate's Court, we'll tell you who they are.

As you may be aware, this business place has been targeted by armed thieves many times in the past.
