Tomza Got Taken, Twice

On Wednesday, we told you about that armed robbery at the Gas Tomza Butane depot, located at mile 1 and a half on the George Price Highway. The men stole $185 in cash, and all snatched two cell phones.

Police captured them as they were fleeing, and recovered the stolen loot.

Those 2 men have been identified as 24-year-old Robert Michael Spain, a fisherman of Coral Grove in Belize City, and 39-year-old Clive Gerald Hendrix, a resident of Pickstock Street who has had numerous run-ins with the law.

They were arraigned today before Senior Magistrate Tricia Pitts-Anderson on two counts each of robbery.

They both pleaded not guilty, but because a firearm was used, they were remanded until August 19th, 2020.

In related news, at 5:00pm today the Tomza butane gas station behind the Maya Mopan area of Belmopan was robbed by two men. One of them fired a shot into the ceiling and they took the sales which was about 300 to 400 dollars. They ran into the bushes and disappeared.
