Earlier we told you about the 45 repatriates who came back into the country, but that wasn't the only thing coming out of the airport today. A special flight by a a C17 military aircraft from Charleston Air Force Base in the US barrelled down the runway at the PGIA this morning. Onboard were two ambulances donated by the Virginia Emergency Services Program to the Belize Fire Department for deployment in San Ignacio and Santa Elena.
Fire Chief Collin Gillett received the donation up and explained that it came through an initiative led by Belizean Firefighters in the US:
The special flight was authorised by the US Department of Defence.
