Still No Charges For Driver Of Butane Truck
posted (June 22, 2020)
Last week Wednesday, we told you about the tragic accident in Libertad village which claimed the life of 10 year old Standard 3 student Seven Torres.

He was crushed by a Lucas butane truck when the truck knocked him down.

His grieving and deeply wounded family held a candle-light vigil for the child at the scene where he was killed this weekend.

They are demanding justice and that the driver, 39 year old Yuri Lucas be charged.

Today, police did not seem to have a clear direction forward...:

ACP Joseph Myvett
"I think his surname may be Torres. I know that there is an ongoing investigation and the driver was detained. A statement was recorded from him in the presence of his attorney. Several assignments were needed to be completed by the police before that investigation is submitted to the D.P.P. for her directive. We know that the police have been in communication with the D.P.P.'s representatives and certain directives were given where the police is dealing with in compliance."

Reporter
"Are you able to share any details as to the accident itself?"

ACP Joseph Myvett
"No, I do not have the details as to this point in time."

The child's grandfather laments that they have not even gotten a call from the gas company offering condolence.
