COVID Cases Spiking In Central America
posted (June 22, 2020)
And while the country faces an immediate threat from its repatriates, a larger threat is looming on our borders. That's because confirmed cases throughout central America are spiking and have ballooned to 81,179. Of those 2,130 have died.

Our neighbor to the west, Guatemala, stands behind Panama with the third-highest numbers in the region with 9,605 active cases, and 485 deaths.

Other neighboring countries are faring somewhat better with Honduras recording 9695 active cases, El Salvador recording 1917, Costa Rica with 1064, and Nicaragua, a country known to have downplayed their numbers, recording 359 active cases.

As we've reported Belize maintains the lowest numbers in the region and in fact the hemisphere.
