Serious Complaint of Police Corruption and Theft
posted (June 22, 2020)
Police Commissioner Chester Williams has ordered an internal investigation to a complaint that has emerged out of Cotton Tree Village, on the George Price Highway just outside of Belmopan.

The complainant is from a woman who says that police raided her house, and illegal items, but ended up actually raiding her secret stash of cash, and pocketed $6,000 dollars of her money. She claims that she can prove it, and so, our colleagues at Plus TV asked the Commissioner about her assertions, given that she has provided them with surveillance footage of the police search on her home.

Here's what the ComPol had to say about the allegations:

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I dont want to go into the nitty gritty as to who the person is that is making the complaint or whom lives at the house or who frequents the house. That's another story, but I have tasked Mr. Sutherland from the Professional Standards Branch to look at the complaint and from what he briefed me this morning, the lady is not forthcoming. She is alleging that she took the DVR or NVR to Plus TV and I don't know what you all did to it and when she got back, she had to reset and lost the video. Now, I have since asked Mr. Sutherland to go to Plus TV to see if you all have a copy of the video and if you do, then we are going to see how that will be able to assist the investigation with a view to determine what, if any thing occurred at the home. So, it is a matter that the PSB is still looking at and if it is that the officers did go to the house and stole monies from there, then the officers will be dealt with. But at the end of the day we have to be objective and look at it in its entirety before we make that determination."
