The driver and passengers of a highway patrol vehicle are lucky to be
alive after a near head-on collision at full-speed with a sand truck.
It happened this afternoon at 3:30 at mile 9 on the George Price
Highway just before Sunset Park.
It's a frightening display of recklessness and lawlessness; lawless
because it's the highway patrol that the overtaking truck ran off the
road. we can see the patrol SUV making a U turn. We understand they ran
down the truck and gave the driver a ticket.
Those who drive the highway will tell you this is far from unusual, as
this type of Mad Max driving happens on the daily. But, it's very
rarely recorded - and for that we can thank the driver directly behind
the highway patrol, and also himself in the line of fire, Belmopan
businessman Darwin Gallardo who captured the whole thing on his
dashcam.
