Police after Minister's Payslips
posted (June 30, 2020)
John Saldivar is gearing up for the UDP convention, but he could be running into a headwind.

On Friday the Reporter Newspaper broke news, saying quote, "a formal request has been sent to the relevant government agency for copies of payslips for former Minister of National Security John Saldivar and his affiliates Douglas Grant Jr., Jason Neal and Ismael 'Miley' Garcia as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged improprieties." end quote.

Today, the Commissioner says that indeed requests have been made for both Saldivar and Herman Longsworth's payment details in two separate investigations.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"About the police requesting certain information in respect to Mr. Saldivar. That is indeed true, we had made submissions to the different departments requesting those information and yes where that information is concerned the state of emergency has set us back significantly. We have made our request to the U.S. through the neutral legal assistance treaty and we are still awaiting a response from them in order to get a true picture of what was said in court in Utah, as well as the police investigation file involving Lev Dermen to see if there is anything we can get from that to indicate whether or not the former minister had committed some criminal act."

Reporter
"Likewise for Mr. Herman Longsworth and the matter with National Sports Council?"

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"Likewise with that matter we have requested a number of evidential materials in the form of documents from the different government departments. And we are getting some obstacles, I will admit that. I have spoken yesterday to the heads of those departments and they have agreed that they are going to assist with the investigation to give us what it is that we need. If it is that we need something that is essential in proving a point in the investigation and we are getting road blocks then we will be going to the court for the court to issue an order for us to get those information."
