Speaking yesterday in Belmopan, the Commissioner also discussed the difficult issue of quarantine escapees. They've been escaping from facilities guarded by the BDF, but it is an overall security issue. Williams discussed:

"We did have a meeting with the minister to discuss this issue. Like you rightly said it's a. It is a pain in the butt if I may use that term and it can be frustrating. I heard you ask the question to Mr. Romero earlier as to whether or not the Mexican will be escaping from quarantine the regulations did provide for it to be an offense when one failed to comply with quarantine requirements and so if it is that you've escaped from a quarantine center then it is tantamount to not complying with quarantine requirements so in addition to escaping from the quarantine center he will be charged with failing to comply with quarantine requirements and I am hoping that the solution that we have discussed with the minister to the problem. That when that is done that we are going to see a stop to this. I'm not gonna say what that is. I'm going to leave that for the minister to announce when that time comes but we have discussed a solution and I believe that it is going to work when it is implemented."
