But, they will have to do battle without Wilfred Elrington, the three term UDP area Rep for Pickstock.
As you heard in our headline story Elrington got only 10- votes in his bid for leadership - and has taken the firm decision to retire from politics.
That leaves the UDP vulnerable in one of its city strongholds. Ellington said he had hoped to lead in these difficult times, but since he can't do that, he would rather walk away than be complicit as things get worse:
