Rotary Helps Families Get Back to School
posted (July 16, 2020)

Schools are scheduled to re-open on August 10th, and the Sunrise Rotary Club of Belize has decided to come to the aid of 1,000 needy families countrywide, with a back-to-school telethon.

Members say that they recognize the extreme financial hardship that Belizean families are facing at this time, due to the economic crisis brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. So, to aid those parents who lost their jobs during the National State of Emergency, the Rotary Club wants to provide their children with school bags, school supplies, and personal protective equipment.

The Club's Public relations director stopped by our office today to tell us why they are hoping that the general public will show an outpouring of donations to fund their initiative:

The telethon takes place on July 25th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and it will be live on LOVE FM.
