Robberies continue to be very much in the news. Just this afternoon in Belmopan three men held up Aldana's Shop on Costa Rica Street, put a gun to the female proprietor, threw her to the ground, stole her ring, and raided the cash register.
And while those thieves are at large, CAYO police caught two men who may have been planning a holdup. Yesterday evening, cop in Santa Elena received information that two men on motorbike had been circling a Puma Gas Station.
As this security video shows, just as they pulled up at the gas station at 5:40 - the police rolled up on them.
They didn't have anything in their pockets, but who the cops looked under the seat of the motorcycle, they found a rusty .38 Special Revolver with 1 live round. Both men were detained pending charges of Kept Firearm/Ammunition without Gun License.
