Police Constable Injured Outside Club

The Commissioner is also wishing peace for the Jimenez family. As we've shown you, he paid a visit to the Police corporal on Sunday, and this morning he said, that, like Mark Twain, the reports of his "death were greatly exaggerated:"

Chester Williams, Commissioner Of Police
"Contrary to what the media was reporting, I believe that some media houses killed the man about a million times but Mr. Jimnez did get a gunshot injury to the mouth and exited the back of the head. Thankfully the bullet did not catch any major organ and so from my discussion yesterday with the attending physician he is expected to have a full recovery. He should undergo surgery to reconstruct the jaw because the entire jaw is broken."

"So he'll have a jaw reconstruction surgery hopefully very soon and once that is done then he'll be on his way to recovery but he was alert, he was speaking. We spoke for a long while and he was in very very good spirits."

The Football Federation of Belize issued a statement today saying, quote,

"The Football Federation of Belize takes this opportunity to express our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Windel Trapp in his unfortunate passing.

We also take this opportunity to wish Danny Jimenez and Telesha Mckay a licensed coach a safe and speedy recovery."
