A Killing In Carmelita
posted (July 22, 2020)
There was a murder last night in the village of Carmelita, ORANGE WALK, and the victim was a newcomer to that community.

He's 28-year-old Terrique Munnings, who moved to that location several months ago after he was shot in his crime ridden "La Milpa area" of Ladyville.

The victim's family tells us that after that incident, he struggled to recover from the gunshot injuries he suffered to the arms and legs. He made the decision to move north to avoid crime and violence, but last night death found him even there.

He was traveling with 2 minors, and it is unclear whether he was the intended target or not, but of the 3 companions, he was the only one the killers were able to catch - and hack to death with a machete.

Our news team went looking for answers today, and Daniel Ortiz reports:

Our archives indicate that back in February of 2018, Munnings was charged along with another man for an armed robbery of a Bowen and Bowen Delivery truck in Ladyville.

His family acknowledges that he has had run-ins with the law, and they tell us that he was convicted of being in possession of a homemade weapon.
