31-year-old Raymond Jenkins was shot and killed yesterday while waiting
for a cell phone to be repaired in Calcutta village in the Corozal
district.
It happened at about 2:15 when Jenkins and a minor were parked outside
the home of Alric Chi. That's when two masked men wearing dark clothing
and riding a motorcycle pulled up beside them, and the passenger opened
fire on Jenkins.
The men then sped off leaving Jenkins who had covered the minor with
his body bleeding profusely and crying out for help. He was driven to
the Corozal Community Hospital by Chi where he eventually succumbed to
his injuries.
Police suspect it may be drug related.
