posted (July 27, 2020)
And while police thwarted that attempted arson, there were no cops to stop robbers in the west.

On Saturday morning Jackyln store in St. Matthews was targeted by men armed with guns and knives. They held up the store's elderly owners stabbing Leonel Tobar and assaulting his wife.

This morning their relative and employee, who wished to remain off-camera, recounted their horrible ordeal.

Voice of: Employee Jackly's Store
"It was Saturday morning around 7:30, the owners of the store, they usually open around 7 so they were fixing up the place to start you know selling in the morning and then four guys approached, two of them had guns and the other two had guns. I think kitchen knives. So two of them came in and they jumped the counter and they pointed the gun at the two owners. They tied one of them and the other they had at gunpoint. So they were telling them to give them all of the money so the owners gave them everything but they insisted that they wanted more. So that's when the owner resisted because they were shutting the store. they were shutting the gate and he resisted and started fighting back and that's when one of them hit him in the head with the gun and the other guy stabbed him in the abdomen and then they fled the scene. They went through the back road and they fled the scene."

Police have a named suspect.
