Dangerous Armed Robbers In Lord’s Bank
posted (July 28, 2020)
At the top of the news we told you about that senseless killing in Ladyville, and, we report now on an aggravated burglary which happened in the nearby village of Lords Bank.

At around 5 this morning, Ladyville Police were called to the Lords Bank Store, which is located on the Lords Bank Road. When the cops arrived, they spoke to a 17-year-old member of the Belize-Chinese family who owns the business place. He told the cops that he was awakened by a man dressed in full black clothing, who was pointing a gun in his face. He was tied up and left on the upper flat of the building, which is the home of the owners. Best reports to 7News are that the house was ransacked, and a safe was stolen, which contained an undisclosed amount of money.

We are told that footage from the video surveillance system installed at the property shows 5 men, all wearing masks, who searched the shop, and the house for valuables they could steal.

We got a chance to speak with several of the family members who own the business place and the house, and they asserted to us that several media houses greatly exaggerated the amount of money that was inside the safe in their online media outlets. Initial reports suggested that the robbers got away with $30,000, but the family says that is grossly inaccurate and false. Moreover, they are concerned that this information can cause criminals to revisit them in the hopes of executing some big heist. They told us that the safe did have money, but it also had personal documents, such as passports, and pieces of old jewelry.
