A man had to be hospitalised yesterday after a killer bee attack. It
happened yesterday around 4:00 pm Jane Usher Boulevard in Belize City.
At the scene we saw an abandoned bicycle left by the victim who came
under attack as he was riding by - according to reports.
The police had the area locked off, and the bees were still swarming.
We could see a few bees pouncing on passers-by. It is unclear what
provoked the attack, but the beehive is believed to have been in a
thick bush on the side of the road.
Police kept the area locked off for a few hours and have to leave
eventually. We are told that the Ministry of agriculture's Bee-team
couldn't come to deal with the public hazard because they had no
transport.
