As we told you in our top segment, fear of COVID spread are blanketing Belize tonight - but, it's still full speed ahead to the airport opening on August 15th.
But, while everyone is worrying about those American tourists coming out of Houston and Miami, the real concern will be the Belizeans returning. Manzanero said the flight manifests will be filled with familiar names:

"My understanding is that the flights - that walk through we did yesterday at the airport - the flights, the first couple of flights are actually booked and they are full and actually the majority of them, they are not tourists, they are Belizeans coming back. So I think we need to underscore that. so the tourists would be walking through two different rapid tests, the SOFIA 2 antigen tests and the SD Biosensor. Belizeans arriving would of course go through the PCR platform and be re-tested at around day 14."
