And, those San Pedro regulations will also apply in the Orange Walk
District villages of Santa Marta, Guinea Grass and Shipyard.
And for the rest of the Orange Walk District, and, indeed, the rest of
the country, there will also be a curfew coming into effect at midnight
tonight. Here's more from the PM:
Rt. Hon. Dean Barrow, Prime Minister
"The regulations for the country leaving aside Ambergris Caye and the
villages in Orange Walk district, which have their own particularly
draconian lockdown regulations, rest of the country including the rest of
the Orange Walk district will be subject to regulations that will impose a
curfew but it will be between the hours of 10 PM and 4:59 AM on weekdays
and on weekends, the curfew will be from 12 AM to 4:59 AM. As well we are
going to close bars, discotheques, rum shops and nightclubs country wide.
Casinos we are going to allow casinos to operate but under the regime that
it had instituted before we lifted the last state of emergency completely,
that is there will be mandatory wearing of face masks in the casinos, there
will be mandatory social distancing, there can be no smoking, no drinking
and there of course will be penalties for any breach. We're going to put a
limit on social gathering, we're going to return to a cap on social
gatherings, including church attendance and the maximum number of persons
allowed to gather socially, will be 25 and even with that 25, there is the
requirement for social distancing."
