posted (August 12, 2020)
You've been hearing it called out since the onset of the pandemic in March: 0-800-MOH-CARE. It's the number you're meant to call to report symptoms or concerns you might have about COVID.

But, it's not just a complaint line; it's also a vital tool for district-based contact tracing. And, plotting the map of the pandemic in Belize are four dedicated health professionals.

We sat down with one today for a closer look at the Emergency Operations Center at the heart of the COVID-19 fight. Cherisse Halsall reports.

Before this current outbreak started on august second, calls to the EOC we're coming in at a rate of 2-3 calls an hour and were more general in nature with callers voicing concerns about repatriation, food assistance, and even unemployment relief.

Since that spike date, the calls have increased to a rate of 12-15 an hour and they're more specific with the majority of callers asking about their risk of exposure and whether or not they should be tested.
