Medical Staff Overwhelmed With COVID Numbers
posted (August 18, 2020)
And while the discharged persons are getting some reprieve from COVID 19, for front-line health staff, whether at the clinics in the hospitals or in the labs, there is no break. Manzanero said the staff is overwhelmed, and explained why you may not be getting the kind of detailed breakdown in numbers that you would like to see:

Dr. Marvin Manzanero, DHS
"I can tell you that the staff is overwhelmed. Yes, that is everywhere, lab staff, public health, people in the epidemiology unit. I know people want in real time to determine which village all these cases are coming from but you understand when these results come out 10, 11 o'clock the night we don't have 24-7 staff, so everybody needs to rest and we don't have a huge amount of staff because somebody was saying well how comes El Salvador, the US can do this, well they have rooms full of people doing all this GPS tracking in real time, we don't have that, I mean we can tell you how big the epidemiology unit is and COVID19 is not the only thing they are tracking and I am not making excuses, I am giving you what is happening on the ground."
