Here are the areas that had the sharpest downturn - including the free zone and food imports, again, with that cooking oil exception:
Tiffany Vasquez, Statistician II
"Once destined for the commercial freezone fell by 50.9 million dollars to 132`.6 million. This was a 28% drop due to decrease imports across a number of items including clothing and bags. Food imports drop by 3% as the food and live animals category declined by 3.8 million dollars to 130.8 million dollars, as the country imported less wheat, malt and a variety of grocery items over the 7-month period. Interesting however, in contract to all the aforementioned decreases, the country did import larger quantities of cooking oils and the oils category saw the only notable increase raising by 23% or 2.6 million dollars to 14.2 million."
