The latest COVID numbers were also discussed at today's press conference.
A record 333 samples were processed and there were 52 positive cases coming out of that. So, we now have a total of 870 cases, with 765 active cases.
Dr. Russell Manzanero gave a breakdown of which communities those 52 positive cases are coming out of:

"Yesterday in itself we had fifty two new cases. So I'll break it down by how they came in. for Corozal we have eighteen new cases, in Caledonia five. Libertad and Corozal Town two. Chan Chen three, Xiabe three and Chunox one. In Orange Walk District we have fourteen. San Pablo and San Felipe three. San Jose and Trial Farm two. Yo Creek, San Estevan, August Pine Ridge and Orange Walk Town one. Belize District we have five, Biscayne four and Caye Caulker one. For the Cayo District Armenia three, Yalbac one and in Belmopan One. I wanted to give information on the deathys, we do have twelve reported deaths, four in females and eight in males. Basically what we are looking at the age group there, from twenty five to thirty four we have two deaths. From fifty to fifty nine we have four deaths. Age group sixty to sixty four five deaths and one person over the age of sixty five."

"You will notice that more males are dying than females. It's a 2:1 ratio. The recovery cases are also more females than males. And we also have a hundred more cases of SARSCOVID2 in males than we do in females."
There were also 39 new recovered cases recorded in yesterday's tests.
