CEO Cho Offered Compulsory Retirement
posted (February 23, 2021)
Another senior government official who's on the government's chopping block is CEO Dr. Percival Cho. From 2017 - 2020, he served in the Barrow Administration as Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Forestry, the Environment, Sustainable Development, and Climate Change. But, unlike almost every other CEO, he was not a political appointment; he's a career public officer with 21 years in the service.

But, when the PUP won, they appointed Dr. Kenrick Williams as CEO in the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management.

With that, Cho was told that they only need one CEO, so he is redundant. He was offered to accept compulsory retirement or face a demotion.

Best information tells us that happened in the last week - and Cho may now be considering his options.
