The forest gardens of the mayan site of El Pilar were back in the spotlight today. Advocate for the Mayan monument Dr. Annabel Ford and her team signed an M.O.U with NICH to develop comprehensive and appealing exhibits aimed at teaching the public about a climate and food security solutions from the past that seems tailor-made for the needs of the future. And self-proclaimed Champion of El Pilar Cynthia Ellis Topsey tells us that there are four pillars in El Pillar's outreach program.
The program includes their archeological site, visitor center, school garden, and farm, with a fifth pillar soon to be the Museum of Belize's El Pilar exhibit.
