Four Belizeans received the Queen's honors at investiture ceremonies held
yesterday in Belmopan.
New Supreme Court Justice Herbert Lord received the CBE, Commander of the
British Empire, for his contribution to law and order.
Myrtle Palacio was awarded the OBE, the Order of the British Empire, for
her service to Belize.
David Nicolas Ruiz received an MBE, Member of the British Empire, for his
contribution to Belizean education, literature, and culture. William Neal was
also awarded an MBE for his contribution to culture. Leela Vernon got an MBE
medal for her promotion of the Kriol culture and music. Dame Rosalie Staines
got an MBE for her contribution to national life.
