The Public Service Minister was also asked about Brigadier General Steven Ortega, who is also heading for retirement. Once again, Usher said thanks to the career soldier:
Hon. Henry Charles Usher - Minister of Public Service
"Again, let me congratulate Brigadier General Ortega for the service that he has provided to this country over the years. I had an opportunity to meet with him on a few occasions. He certainly is a good soldier, a good servant of this country, and I wish him well in retirement. In terms of the procedure in his replacement, as you know, in the military, there are certain ways in which promotions happen. So, that is being done strictly within the BDF, and when the new Brigadier General is named, that will be made public."
