No doubt, Barbados President Mia Mottley has legit rock star status -
and over the past three days in San Pedro we saw her swarmed at every
turn by dignitaries, officials and diplomatic workers wanting pictures
with The Great Woman - and we hasten to add - the only woman head of
government in the room.
But even with all that singularity, President Mottley was gracious to
everyone who asked for a picture - even though the demands on her time
were relentless - as she shuttled between meetings.
And while she smiled for every snap - all those were with adults who
attended the meetings. And while they may admire and wish to emulate
her, they are probably too old to call her a role model.
And that's why it caught our eye today on the beach at Grand Caribe
when she met her legit youngest, truest fan, Faith Noble - a 10 year
old who was determined to meet her APEX role model whom she's been
following for years. Here's her video post talking about her hero:
And Faith's wish came through this afternoon - when Mia Mottley took
the time to pose with her, chat briefly with the young lady about her
hopes and dreams, and even autographed a picture for her.
