There was a commotion on Police Street around 6:00 this evening. These
videos show police storming into the BLC gang turf and firing weapons,
reportedly non-lethal. The men - presumably gang members - are then
thrown into the back of a police truck but in the midst of all the
ruction, two men were shot. The first was identified as Hubert Baptist,
a prominent gang figure, and the second is Earl Baptist.
Here are snippets of the video, during which the shots can be heard as
well as the screams of the civilians after the bullets found their
targets - the videos are just in to our newsroom and we warn you of
their graphic content and strong language. But, they are important
documents of an ongoing police campaign to reign in the gangs and
regain control of the streets:
Reports say one of the men is reportedly a suspect in an ongoing murder
investigation.
